Daylesford Organic has developed a bespoke range of organic teas and botanical infusions in collaboration with London-based Nemi Teas. The collection includes 12 thoughtfully selected teas and infusions that complement Daylesford's unrivalled array of bakery treats including cakes, biscuits and pastries.
Sourced from locations ranging from West Bengal to Mozambique, the teas include Darjeeling, Jasmine Green and Elderflower Green. Featuring flavoursome botanicals from liquorice to lemongrass, the refreshing infusions include Radiance and Dreamtime.
Those visiting Daylesford cafes can enjoy 'tea for two' where the collection of blends will be served on trays with brewing instructions and timers for guests to create the perfect cup. There will also be the option to enjoy the teas over ice, perfect for warmer days. Tastings of the new collection will also be held daily in the Daylesford farm shops with customers having the opportunity to experience the flavours and scents of the blends.
Nemi Teas, which provides employment to refugees to give them local work experience to enter the UK workforce, have also manufactured fully-biodegradable tea bags for Daylesford. Lined by a Polylactic Acid (PLA) mesh filter, derived from 100% non-GMO sugarcane, the bags are constructed ultrasonically, without the use of heat or glue. Each of the teas and infusions is available in pillow or pyramid bags, or in loose tea caddies.
After use, Daylesford recommends using your waste tea leaves in the following ways:
*Clean wooden chopping boards by sprinkling damp leaves onto the surface and scrubbing to absorb strong odours like fish or meat.
*Nutrient-rich leaves can be mixed into compost to encourage plants to grow healthily
*Soothe irritated skin with cool tea bags which can be applied to insect bites, stings andminor burns for instant relief, or add spent leaves to a hot bath for a long soak
*Refresh tired, sore eyes by placing leaves in a muslin bag and then placing over the eyes
